Now that I’ve found a seamstress, I think I’m going to do what you said and shop for my widest part and let the Everybody has an addiction mine just happens to be Brad Paisley shirt In addition,I will do this seamstress fix everything else. I hate shopping and generally hate how everything looks on me, so this may be the best solution. My mom has always sung the praises of just getting those pockets tacked shut! That way they can’t flare out or pull. You can even remove the inner pocket fabric if it bunches up and looks weird. I know it takes away a pocket, but like… putting shit in that pocket really never looks good anyway. I have a pair of pants like that and I have been putting my phone in the front pockets, but it always ends up sitting right where my hips bend and feels WEIRD AF. Plus having anything in there makes them flare out even worse. So I should probably follow my own advice and just tack those shut so I can’t be tempted, and (bonus) they’ll be more flattering too. I have a pair of pants that I’ve wanted to have the pocket removed and sewn shut. There hasn’t been a seamstress in town in like 8 years, but a new shop just opened up last week. I plan to keep this lady busy!

Hips on size charts does not mean your anatomical hip it means your seat, which is defined as the widest part of your body. This is often below the crotch say 2” down but for larger ladies is may be even more inches lower, on the thigh.
