From a psychological POV, when we are angry at others, it really means we’re angry at ourselves (younger self). Also, when we’re depressed, it’s anger turned inwards…. Generally, when we’re angry at a loved one, we find a way to forgive. It’s the Disney Big City Greens Family shirt What’s more,I will buy this same idea here, except the anger is towards ourselves. And so we treat ourselves poorly by way of an inner critic, and allowing others to treat us poorly, etc. It’s the pattern set from our conscious choices when younger. How can I go through this process? I feel a lot of resentment towards my parents in a way that I cannot even conceive forgiving or understanding them. As the adult part of yourself, show your inner child compassion. Tell them you understand why they did what they did; that they didn’t have a choice. Be their safe person now that they can share anything with. Thoughts, especially those that spiral or ruminate, can feed our suffering. It’s like giving fuel to a fire. But you hit the nail on the head with self-awareness.
