It is potentially an opportunity that is a resume builder to move on later. Once you gain even a little supervisory experience, you open up a whole new set of jobs. On the Counts Kustoms Las Vegas NV Car Green shirt Apart from…,I will love this flip side, this specific situation is a bit of a supervisory hornets nest that needs navigated with care, especially if the previous director was well liked. Don’t take the offer. It’s clear they’re just looking for someone to do the work without a pay increase for as long as they can exploit you. If you insist on taking it, get a firm timeline for it, get it all in writing, and get the negotiations out of the way now so you don’t expect a big boost in pay after 3 months of doing this for them to go, “Okay, here’s that raise we promised you; an extra 25 cents an hour will cut it.” “No. If you can’t pay me for it, there’s no reason for me to even attempt it. YOU can take on the extra work. After all, in your position, you’re assumed to already be competent because the department was given to your control.”

A pay raise is nice but the Counts Kustoms Las Vegas NV Car Green shirt Apart from…,I will love this title lives on your resume forever and, if they let you go or the never give you a raise or the full title you can say to your next interviewer “they wanted me to be a perpetual interim with no pay raise and no permanent title, so I’m looking to leave.” Decline. Tell them you can’t justify an increased workload and responsibilities without increased compensation. In writing with a clear target date, 3 months etc. Where if you still around they automatically assume your competance and guaranteed wage adjustment percentage, bonuses, benefits etc. I am a retired corporate man and believe me your bosses are all snake oil salesmen/woman. So unless it is in writing, clearly stated it does not exist.
