She worked as the Being a grandma doesn’t make me old blessed snoopy and friends shirt Furthermore, I will do this store manager for like 6-8 months, no pay increase, not even a title change, did a great job, then the company hired someone external to do the job. Start finding a new job. They’re trying to use you for free labor by making you work the manager position without getting a pay increase. They say they’ll pay you “when you’re comfortable in the position”, that’s a bunch of BS. They don’t plan on ever giving you a pay increase. They’ll just keep stringing you along for as long as they can. Battlefield promotions are a great way to end up just like your former manager. It is absolutely not the right way to actually grow into a manager position. they aren’t supporting you financially in your new role they will also will not support you with anything else like helping you grow the skills to be manager. They are not at all setting you up for success and as a new manager you won’t know that until they fire you too. This is the wrong place to ask for career advice! This is a place full of angry people making bad decisions. Stay here to talk about actual bad jobs and bad work/life balance, but if you’re growing your career then go to r/careeradvice or something.

Do not take on any extra responsibility without compensation, ever. If they want you to “try it out” they need to pay you to. Otherwise it is 100% open ended. Don’t do it without the pay. I was put into that same position at a previous company. I was now managing 6-8 people. All but 1 person made more money than I did. One person was making $40k more than I was. I was told that I was going to get promoted and “hooked up” when I also grew into the position.
