I have a funny story. Years ago I used to live and work in NYC. I was a freelance artist and worked in several studios and shops that made things like this. I asked around to find out what shop made the Captain America Jeep Logo Shirt in other words I will buy this inflatable Rats for the unions. Turns out they were made in non union shops (most of these shops are non union and rely on freelance workers so they don’t have to offer benefits). I just loved the irony. We had one of these at my high school when i was in 11th grade and it was under construction. Was interesting experience as we simultaneously learned about unions and labor law in history class that year Not exactly sure what the entire deal is with unions these days, but I know they paved a brighter future for the workforce by making humane demands from corporations and such. Are they still big these days? Also what’s a scab in this context? As a union member that sees one of these daily, I find it embarrassing. Workers blaming other workers just distracts from the broken system.

Workers that take jobs to replace workers who are on strike. Scabbing undermines the Captain America Jeep Logo Shirt in other words I will buy this bargaining power of the union that is on strike. Moral of the story: there is always someone willing to take your job to earn a living while you just voluntarily un-employed yourself. Love union works who complain about scabs. “How dare this employer hire someone to continue to proved a service and pay them a wage while I stand out here making 0 dollars. The nerve…..” Just to be clear, we are saying a hospital shouldn’t hire nurses if there is a nurse strike? I get the 2 sides are trying to come to a negotiation, and striking is a way to put pressure on the employer, but hospitals, they are probably paying through the ass for traveling nurses, and a hospital is the last place I want understaffed. To me scab’s seems like a good thing for all sides as the hospital is pressured with increased costs and people still get treatment, lastly if a hospital is forced to shut down cause of a strike I got a feeling government mandated strike bans would have to go in effect (like they have on certain jobs like police officers who will go to prison if they strike). I would hope traveling nurses are not trying to be shamed for being “scabs” as this ain’t like a TV factory or something that people can go without.
