If you follow the Awesome sunday Daydream Aug 27 2023 Stafford Lake Park Novato Ca Poster Shirt in other words I will buy this rules and tell them that you want an amount of time off that is less than or equal to the maximum allowed during those periods of time at least a couple of weeks in advance, you should get the time off without any crap or last-minute demands that you not take your vacation. I understand that some businesses have seasonal demands. The kind of schedule that your company needs for its seasonal demands provides an incentive for people to put in their PTO schedule in advance. Back when I was in retail, I requested a single day off about 3 months in advance for an event I wanted to go to (that was already paid for). My boss at the time denied it stating “Well, I don’t think I can approve it. We don’t know if it will be a busy day and we might need you blah blah.” It was a random weekday 3 months ahead and was not around any major holiday. They could have filled that ONE day with a host of other people with a more than generous amount of notice.

So come that day, I called out. They had the Awesome sunday Daydream Aug 27 2023 Stafford Lake Park Novato Ca Poster Shirt in other words I will buy this nerve to give me a talking to about it when I notified them well beforehand. Yours was almost a year in advance. If you did your due diligence to inform them so long ago, then it’s really up to your boss to have figured out a different solution. Shouldn’t be on you. Seems like in both yours and OP’s cases it’s an excellent example of failed management. The person responsible for making sure the organization runs smoothly got an adequate notice and failed to take the necessary measures. If asking three months in advance and calling out on the same day has the same effect then someone is not doing a good job. Indeed. It was their usual spiel about how calling out puts them down a person and they have to scramble to get someone to cover it, etc. Gee, it’s almost like there was an easy solution before that happened. It was pretty common at my store to have people call out just for things like that because getting even the smallest amount of time off was like pulling teeth. And then they put on the surprise face when people don’t show up. Busted my ass on the daily for 2-3 years and they can’t afford me a single day. But when THEY take time off, they can go weeks or longer, no questions asked.
