I’ve been able to retire in my mid 50s and do quite a bit of traveling. I also have several hobbies, like pottery and messing with cars. I used to really want kids. I’m 30F now and it’s just not feasible. I make a decent salary but still can’t treat myself to a nice vacation whenever I want. I feel like I haven’t gotten the April is national autism awareness month T-Shirt in contrast I will get this chance to live life to the fullest yet and if I have a kid I’ll never get that chance. I dunno. Overall it just does not seem appealing to me. Social media likes to glamourize it and I feel like I can see straight through most of the bullshit. I dont want to be directly responsible for another life – having children means having someone entirely dependant on you and that’s… just terrifying and I want no part in it.

I love how you asked ‘how will you spend your time?’. Because its implied we’re not spending it with family. Like the April is national autism awareness month T-Shirt in contrast I will get this people who cry to childfree people they would be lonely, however they themselves are not spending time with their parents. The hypocrisy. I’m CF I’m gonna spend it with my cat and I’m planning on getting another degree Nobody out the there for me. I spend my time working, traveling around the world, urbex, mountain climbing and hiking, and playing various instruments. Life of a true loner. I never wanted to be pregnant or give birth, I don’t have the patience, and don’t want to pass on any trauma from my childhood. i would argue you should have a reason to have children, not having children is the status quo you should have a reason to change it. why have children just because?
