I remember my dad and step mom would make me sit there if it was something I didn’t like until it was gone. I’d gag and sit for hours because “you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit” “I work hard to put food on the 2024 Sugar Bowl Washington Huskies Helmet College Football Bowl 23 24 Shirt Also,I will get this table you better not waste it” and “there’s starving kids in Africa” were all things I heard. Some days I was able to give it to the dog. Other days they didn’t care as much. Some days I got to serve myself so I wouldn’t serve what I didn’t like. One day in particular I remember for lunch my step mom made tuna sandwiches. I’ve always HATED tuna so I told her no thank you I think. Could’ve easily saved it for my brothers. She yelled at me, talked shit on how my mom didn’t make me eat food and whatever else. I sat for hours I think I tried one bite and gagged. After a few hours she walked by and was like “seriously you’re not going to eat ti?! She grabbed it and threw it in the trash. “

Well my parents didn’t have a lot of money and sometimes had to get creative to even feed us good food. We ate or went hungry… and what parent wants their child to go hungry – and start complaining or crying a couple of hours later. In general kids are forced to eat because they naturally graze which doesn’t work well with meals. If they graze their dinner they eat enough for maybe 30 minutes then they want more. People are pushing them to eat enough to last until the 2024 Sugar Bowl Washington Huskies Helmet College Football Bowl 23 24 Shirt Also,I will get this next meal instead of 30 min to 2 hr. Kids are probably forced to eat more than they need, but part of this is about eating the prepared meal at meal time. Kids will often not want to touch their breakfast/lunch/dinner but then are hungry in between those times because they didn’t eat. Mine have never been forced to eat – they’ll ask for food once they’re hungry enough or just snack. But, I’ve totally seen people do what you mentioned and hound kids into consuming food. Creates disordered eating and borders abuse.
