I can’t pretend I’ve never been worried about vocalizing intrusive thoughts before but thankfully it’s never happened to me. He might also be a racist, we don’t know. But even a racist knows he can’t use that word in front of black people without getting in trouble so he would’ve have apologized. I don’t know… I work in rough schools around Baltimore with tough kids and have never had any desire to drop that word even as I’m getting cornered and screamed at by students. For sure he’s a racist, I was just pointing out he would apologize because he knew he was in trouble not because of a threat of physical violence. But intrusive thoughts are no joke. Until you’ve had the intense urge to kiss your attorney (whom you are not attracted to in the slightest based on age, looks, and gender preference) while discussing the death of your uncle, you just don’t know how weirdly difficult it can be to overcome that feeling.

My thoughts exactly. The whole tone and wording (even without the last word) of the sentence is all wrong for a, presumably, teacher and student interaction. This guy has definitely hit some kind of wall and lost the ability to keep up the pretense he’s likely been maintaining for his entire teaching career. Even so, you are a teacher. There are multiple teachers at the high school that my kids go to that are all up in the kid’s business. They try to be hip with using words like “drip”or whatever, and the kids just look at them like they are aliens. I don’t care how young and hip you are as a teacher. You are still a teacher and will never be in with the kids. You are not cool. You are making the kids uncomfortable.
