The level matching with enemies reduced the Yes i am old but saw Bob Marley on stage signature shirt Furthermore, I will do this feeling of power spikes with what seem like skill milestones, or difficulty spikes when entering a new area. Feels more like treading water. THIS! This is my frustration now. I’m just not getting that feeling of being “ahead of the curve”. Monsters are getting very spongey at level 45 for me and fights are going slower instead of faster. You don’t? I’m getting it whenever I find a considerable upgrade to my gear, which is mostly either a stronger weapon or a useful legendary aspect. That’s when you get ahead of the curve for a few levels until the monster power is creeping up on you again the more you (and they) are leveling up. And frankly, that’s exactly how every arpg ever was designed to feel: You find a good item that makes you feel strong for a while, but that feeling fades as you progress because the monsters you fight are getting stronger as well and at some point you’ll need new stuff to make you feel strong again. Wait until you get to level 50 and into world tier 3. That’s when the gear stops dropping appropriately to your level, but instead you can find and wear top of the line level 70 gear at level 50 and get a huge spike that carries you for the next 20 levels if you’re lucky. I expect that when I step aside from the main story progression to farm up, I would come back and feel more powerful. Like in D2 when you go farm up some levels/gear/runewords in an earlier zone, then you go back to your latest zone and feel that difference in power. In D4 I think with level scaling that’s inherently missing with a few exceptions where the mob level is static (ex. capstone dungeon).

I honestly love level scaling. I’d never go back to lower level areas and farm cause usually it’s either super boring quick or they loot yourself farming is just not that good anymore since it’s lower level. Gem farming I can see but tbh I never have issues looking for them I feel the Yes i am old but saw Bob Marley on stage signature shirt Furthermore, I will do this opposite at 45 with barbarian. I am now able to absolutely fuck shit up. The first 15 lvls were so hard though. Damn, I’m having the opposite experience. Im only around level 28 playing on tier 2 but I’ve tried experimenting with some early builds on rogue. One I found that works wonderfully is a shotgun barrage build. Pretty much stack vulnerability, crit chance, and weapon poison to absolutely destroy bosses. Just a bit ago I also got a legendary ring that let’s me use unlimited traps during stealth so I ended up replacing one of my mobility skills for it. Definitely like that I can respec easily early on, it let’s me experiment with different builds and playstyles. The skill system is the biggest let down for me so far. I thought there would be much more, so I went and looked at some of the end game items people have data mined for my class. I was hoping to see D3 level of creativity in terms of altering the ways the skills worked without the busted numbers.
