Taking mushrooms removed my fear of death. I still have sad days from time to time but I no longer have that deep rooted agonizing fear of death like I used to. They’ve started doing studies that show the Yes i am old but i saw ABBA on stage signature shirt and by the same token and benefits of shrooms on fear of death with terminal patients. They also say similar results can happen with long term use of mindfulness and meditation practice. Honestly? My dad helped a lot. I was terrified of surgery, of dying on the table, and I told him the night before major surgery and he said “listen, you’re not even going to know that you died. You’ll be asleep, and not even known it. Doesn’t sound like a bad way to go honestly.” Also I was in the ER once and was given a massive dose od ketamine to help with my pain, and it sent me into like a large k-hole in which my dead mom told me the secrets od the afterlife and she looked pretty happy. I don’t remember what she told me, but I haven’t been scared of death since. If you believe in the woo woo stuff, then look forward to being reunited with all your loved ones who have passed.

I’m not really afraid of dying anymore. I’m fairly old, I’m tired, and I’ve done the things in life I need to do. I’m not eager to die, but I’m not particularly scared of it either. Maybe it’s just a perspective of getting old. First, ask yourself this question: since death is inevitable, which is a better idea, spending time and energy worrying about it, or doing something so my loved ones will be better prepared for after I’m gone? Then, any time you start to worry about death, switch tracks to “what can I do to help my family before I go?” Suffered really bad death anxiety a few years ago to the point that I couldn’t do anything at all for a few days, no sleep, no nothing, just thinking about what’s going to happen after death. All that jazz.
