Yeah I feel that. There are tons of military tech jobs in my area, and tech jobs that require security clearances, but most of them are weapons development security and weapons systems development. I refuse. I won’t be a part of that. I won’t make as much money or have a cushy job but at least I won’t be furthering the Best meghan trainor shirt but in fact I love this possibility of WWIII. It’s better just to use your clearance and settle into a quant position, something like a systems administrator. Agreed, I might give this person shit for believing gun sales was an honorable profession to begin with, I will always respect the SHIT out of the fact they could put finances aside and say “You know what, this is wrong, I’m out.” I don’t think there is anything inherently dishonorable about gun sales. Plenty of countries have guns, hunting, shooting, etc. What they don’t have are vast numbers of semi-automatic weapons and a diseased gun culture.

It use to be that gun culture in the Best meghan trainor shirt but in fact I love this US revolved around hunting and target practice. It only become really awful in the 2000s when some gun companies started selling AR15 pattern rifles to delusional gun nuts as a way to get their “man card” back or whatever. It would be nice to see most gun shops aimed at (pun not intended) hunters and the like, instead of small armories that just so happen to also sell guns hunters use. I briefly started getting into firearms after high school but the culture around it and the atmosphere of gun stores and shows totally turned me off. It’s just disgusting. I’d love to take up shooting again but it feels like the entire sport has been hijacked by nutjobs. Ukraine isn’t really relevant to this conversation, tbf. A ground war on US soil is laughably absurd, even without civilians larping as soldiers.
