Vietnam is loud af, loudest country I’ve ever visited For a world traveler you sure do a good job of looking like an easy mark. for a seasoned traveler you should already be aware by now that if you are in the tourist quarter of any city in a developing country there are going to be less than honest people looking to rip off tourists.

Get out of the complete tourist areas. Even in the tourist neighborhood of Da Nang it’s not anywhere near as bad as you’re experiencing. Just don’t go to that night market near the Dragon Bridge.. I went about a month ago and it was horrible continually getting pestered. I didn’t know anywhere in Da Nang was likely that but the good part is almost nowhere else in Da Nang is that bad. Get out of Old Quarter. Like, how gullible you have to be to expect to not pay when “fruit vendors” are just there so you can take pictures? Even at super markets, free samples are followed by a very hard push to sell you that very thing. There is no free lunch.
