Step 1 accept the xKaren Meme My name is Karen I Need to Talk to Manager T-Shirt Besides,I will do this responsibility and role, immediately add this to your resume, if you don’t accept, odds are they hire someone outside and decide you’re not a team player and just never promote you Step 3 after 6 months go job hunting, because if they didn’t give you the pay raise, you’ve been doing the job for 6 months and now solidly know what you’re doing if they did give you the raise I guarantee you it’s not the right pay. Most companies will low ball you especially if you’ve never held that title/level before Step 4, once you have an offer you have 2 choices and it depends on whether or not you want to stay at this company. First you can present the offer and ask them what they plan to do about it. The risk is they say “see ya and good luck”. Or you can do nothing and just use it for information. Now we split steps based on what they do. Step 5a they know about the offer and decide to do nothing, that’s your answer. Gtfo 5b they know about the offer and price match it. Your call but I would gtfo, price matching means they were lowballing you and are damn adamant about paying you the minimum they can get away with 5c they offer more than the other company. I’d still gtfo because why wasn’t I being paid this the whole time but I understand comfort and what not.

Step 6 once you put your 2 weeks in, no backing out. Regardless of which scenario it is, you decided it wasn’t worth it, even if they throw more money at it. Because honestly why wasn’t that money on the xKaren Meme My name is Karen I Need to Talk to Manager T-Shirt Besides,I will do this table the first time? You taking the job makes it easier to get offers, we know companies are insane and don’t want to hire someone for a job they haven’t already done. If they don’t pay you for it the next one will. I’m not suggesting you be the companies bitch, which is why you job hunt in 6 months. 6 months with a new role and responsibilities and no raise is a small price to pay to open the door somewhere else that will pay you. Every job I’ve ever had I got because I chose to take on new things and then when they don’t pay I find someone who will. It’s worked like a charm This happened to me, I asked for a date I will officially get the job and a bonus. They gave me a bonus for not promoting me immediately and then raise 6 months later. I did get the title at day 1, they didn’t give it to me but I took it.
