Have you been living under a rock? People have been digging wells in Africa for free for decades. I know some churches that sent people to dog wells/teach locals how to dig wells Mr Beast gets people to donate or has sponsors for this kind of stuff. He then goes on to make videos about it, which creates ad revenue. What will happen in a few years, when the Xavier Renegade Angel Profound Existential Thing shirt and by the same token and wells need maintenance? Is he also training local people to do that work? Me Beast literally turns attention into capital. The other wealthy people may get some good press from doing humanitarian work, but for Mr. Beast, it’s literally how he makes his money. Doing something that gets you to pay attention to him, and want to keep watching him.

Xavier Renegade Angel Profound Existential Thing shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

There was not another super wealthy person who had taken that route to their wealth before him that I can think of. NGOs and “the Xavier Renegade Angel Profound Existential Thing shirt and by the same token and world’s wealthy” are already doing this, and much more, to ensure access to clean water for many under developed nations around the world. They just don’t make flashy ingratiating youtube videos for numbnuts so they can make more money off of their good deed. Building wells is like giving out bandages instead of dealing with the spinning blades that keep cutting people up. Worse most charity efforts like this actually hurt the economy by giving for free what normally would be provided by a business. It would be much more effective if charities just handed out money instead of other things. Lots of aids and charity happens with zero publicity. Don’t confuse “I don’t know of anyone else doing this” with “no one else is doing this”. Akon has provided energy to over 30 million Africans. With all of mr beasts money and fame why isn’t he doing as much as Akon? Mr. Beast’s primary service/“product” is philanthropy. He makes more money than he spends in order to do these things. It’s also, as people have pointed out, more meaningful to maintain existing wells, but that’s not as much of a spectacle that will bring in revenue.
