If you can polish up your resume to show that you want to work in a “hackathon” manner (that is, grinding it out) you may find more success in your search with startups. I’ve talked to countless other founders about this and everyone says the Worship Shirt Psalm 95 Faith Shirt In addition,I will do this same thing. There are tons of engineers looking for jobs, but the vast majority of them are still seeking the 2021 style easy engineering jobs. I am a director of engineering and involved in recruiting and hiring. Candidates from FAANG haven’t been great, they ask for a lot with little on the table and seem flaky. Speaking from my experience so far; dozens of interviews already. I can hire a non-FAANG for half the price. As the founder of a startup, I really second this. FAANG engineers got so used to the lifestyle of working like 25 hours a week remotely while being paid 200k, and startups just can’t afford to hire someone who’s looking for that.

And trust me, I was on the Worship Shirt Psalm 95 Faith Shirt In addition,I will do this other side working for FAANG between 2018 and 2021 so I know what it’s like. That experience makes me incredibly apprehensive when considering FAANG candidates. If I’m paying 180k for an engineer, I need them to work a minimum of 40 hours a week with a certain level of dedication and longevity at the company. Especially since the fundraising environment right now is so much worse than it used to be. I know that, some of the best coworkers i’ve had were at FAANG. But the common perception is that FAANG alumni (especially new ones) are used to a very lax working environment. It’s completely true that in the past 4 years, thousands of engineers at FAANG pushed minimal amounts of code on low impact projects without any consequences.
