idk what it is about recruiter behavior, but they do seem to like to waste a lot of their company’s money and also candidates time. There’s probably more recruiters than jobs right now so until the Wake Up Act Silly Meme Shirt Furthermore, I will do this recruiters are also let go, they have to fill the time and pretend to be working. True, I’ll definitely think about that. Tbh what usually happens is they say they’ll forward my resume to the HM and then I get an OA or nothing I graduated last May and I received a second round interview like 6 months after the first one after being ghosted. SWE hiring process is something else. As soon as I say I was laid off they ghost me. If I say I am looking for new opportunities they pass me through. If so, you really need to cater your background and resume to those companies in a very specific way. Because we’re a startup and the fundraising environment is about 10 times harder than it was, we really can’t afford to pay 180k for engineers who seek the “faang” lifestyle of wanting to work only 3 or 4 hours a day remotely.
