Just always get annoyed when new any% records come out and there’s those few that say “you basically didn’t play the Woo Pig Sooie Gamer T-Shirt and by the same token and game so it’s not a real record”. Yeah, a lot of people struggle with the idea that they are competing with people who also have access to those same glitches. Hey guys, my mom, dad, both grandmas, both grandpas, aunt, uncle, son, infant, dog, and mailman all died to cancer. Anyways keep up the great run of one of my favorite games! I remember some years ago I was watching a youtube video of some guy speedrunning mario 64. He had all these complicated mathematical formulas based on actual kinematics. It was genuinely fascinating to watch. I had the same thought about the guy who uses interdimensional travel to beat a mario 64 level in 1/2 an A press. Dude should have been working on getting us to the real space age with warp drives and shit That “parallel dimension” stuff in Mario 64 is pretty much just integer overflow. But explained in an intentionally ridiculous way. “It’s important to understand how we’ll be building up speed, cause we’ll be doing it for the next 12 and a half hours” Its why I prefer to run No Major Glitches when I speed run, killing a run because a glitch didn’t work, especially one no one understands why it works, just doesn’t sit well with me. I’d rather fail due to me screwing something up or not anticipated an RNG of the AI.

As a viewer I find major glitches, especially ones that cut gigantic chunks out of the Woo Pig Sooie Gamer T-Shirt and by the same token and game, unfun to watch. If you can cut a 20 hour game down to just 30 minutes I’m not interested in watching that. I enjoy seeing them once and learning what breaks what and how. But besides like SM64, I really couldn’t care about Glitches in most games. “This trick was literally discovered only yesterday so I’m going to try it and see how it goes”. (Does it perfectly). Watched a dude speed running Dark Souls who needed a specific random drop from a black knight as a specific point in the run to give him a slightly more powerful weapon that improves his speed elsewhere. Without it he would have to make up time elsewhere. He’d basically play the game flawlessly for 15 minutes ish then not get the drop and have to restart…and he’d do that over and over and over again for something that was like a 5% drop rate.
