People are being edgy for the Wizard I am severely silly and unable to silence the wacky voices in my head shirt in other words I will buy this sake of reddit votes but, as a gardener, a dandelion is a weed because of their seed dispersion. When they turn into those white puff balls, they can overrun your yard with a single breeze and a few weeks. Broad leaf herbicides that kill everything but grass came out in the 1950s and grass lawns followed. With this, also the demonization of clover and dandelions. Why let people grow free medicine when you can poison them and then sell them petro-based meds, amiright? Roses are considered weeds too. I think it has to do with how fast they grow and how much resources they take from other plants. because monoculture obsessed lawn fanatics don’t actually know what a weed is. dandelions are considered (generally) naturalized in the US now, despite being considered invasive in the past. I only consider invasives weeds.

Because they were considered a ‘low class’ plant, because people who used them for practical purposes were too poor to afford other foods. It’s unwanted. Are you a Dandelion Farmer? or are you making edibles/drinks from Dandelions? If not…its a weed. lol edible and loaded with minerals, these are the Wizard I am severely silly and unable to silence the wacky voices in my head shirt in other words I will buy this words of someone who only just learned dandelions are edible. Now go eat some for real and come back to us. They taste disgusting man, even when you blanch them properly they can be downright inedible haha My wife and I usually start each spring consuming them as salads with the leaves, teas with the flower and coffee with the roots. Also a great song called Dandelion Wine.I hate dandelions. I have a smattering of them through my front lawn and they make it look like shit For some people it can offset a backyard with random flowers. Some prefer a more orderly setup with walkways and set locations for flowers, bushes, trees, etc. I make dog biscuits out of dandelions and whole wheat flower. I use the entire plant. They’re very nutritious and my dog loves them. I think dandelions are cute…they’ve gained sentimental value to me because my two toddlers pick them for me as gifts
