TLDR: Worked at meta, interned at another FAANG, still don’t get interviewsYou are probably in the Wildflower Shirt also I will do this Bay Area.. honestly, right now the job market there is absolutely terrible. You probably would have much more luck looking outside FAANG + neighbors in lower cost of living areas. It’s not just you – 8 YOE I have a job luckily but I’ve been applying for 9 months and have had only only interview, did get the job but they ghosted me after a verbal offer..weird. I’m very worried about my current company and if they will withstand the recession so we will see. I used to apply to three jobs in a week and get two interviews and at least one offer. Times have changed, for now, so many layoffs and amazing Devs on the market. So many ghost jobs because no one is hiring either.

Wildflower Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

I moved from Marin to Georgia and honestly its better just because my housing is %50 the Wildflower Shirt also I will do this cost it was before. I have a 3600 SqFt 6 bedroom house, and pay 1/2 what I paid for a 1700 SqFt 2 bedroom cottage Oof, I live with my gf, so no way I can consider moving somewhere like Georgia with the current state of women’s rights in the South 🙁 Hang in there! If you worked at 2 FAANG companies, you’re definitely a smart and capable dev. It’s a tough market right now but it’ll turn around eventually. That said… If you’re having a lot recruiter calls but not moving on to the next round, it might be worth exploring what you’re saying in those interviews. Companies don’t want to waste their time, they aren’t scheduling calls just to ghost you. Clearly your resume is strong, but maybe you could improve your story and what you communicate to recruiters.
