Da Nang is different. They have strict policies on scams which are policed and enforced well. These people are used to being rejected and you don’t have to say sorry, just walk past and put your hands out or ignore them. Vietnam is such a beautiful country and the people are beautiful and kind, I’ve been twice to Vietnam and highly recommend it to everyone. Hoi An, which you get through via Da Nang, is my favourite place and although it’s quite touristy it’s simply beautiful, great place to tailor clothes and lots of day trips. I personally think Hoi An Memories show is worth going to.

Came here to say this. My wife and I loved Hoi An when we visited in December. I bought 2 3 piece suits at Yaly and had a bunch of shirts made at stall #45. Hahaha agree with the Welcome the new look of BMW logo shirt and I will buy this shoes, I was so excited about the “custom made shoes” but the Chelsea boots I got were so narrow and hurt my feet so bad, they altered it which took an extra day, it was slightly better but never perfect. I got heaps of shirts made and they’re so comfy and light Honestly. Kind of your fault having done zero research. You stayed in the tourist trap central in a city in developing nation. Also how much has this cost you in total? $20? What are you really complaining about here? I suggest traveling to nha trang instead they are much stricter on the street vendors there, I tried giving a little kid selling chewing gum some money instead of buying the gum he straight up refused the money. Hanoi, HCMC are major cities where the locals go to earn money it’s basically a massive battlefield for hustlers and scammers. Go to the smaller cities like da nang, nha trang, quy nhon. You will find the experience much more different.
