Im sure there are plenty of people actually CRIMINALLY underpaid, based on general human rights, or lack thereof, in other authoritarian countries (DPRK, etc). Teachers, I don’t care that they get summers off, which they don’t even get paid for. Most f the Vin is Back Home RIPVinScully Poster Classic T-Shirt in other words I will buy this complaints people have about teachers could be solved if they were paid more. Do you think bad teachers aren’t fired enough, well if they were paid better you would actually have someone better willing to replace them? Do you want teachers to give more individualized education? Well, you’re going to have to hire more teachers which means you’re going to have to pay them more. Teaching should be a highly paid and highly respected profession, it literally is the future of our country. Teachers should start out making 70k minimum, and I am not kidding when I say the top end for teachers should be in the 200k. There are lots of college kids who would be interested in teaching if the pay was better and teachers were actually respected. Honestly, considering how important the job is (to raise the next generation to not be schmucks / brainless), the proficiency of educators AND their pay is quite pathetic.

Ideally, educators should have to go stricter qualification courses (akin to doctors/lawyers) so they are better to equipped to enlighten our future generation, and should also be compensated as such for the Vin is Back Home RIPVinScully Poster Classic T-Shirt in other words I will buy this higher proficiency requirements. “You get what you pay for” seems to be the common theme for teachers… while this doesn’t apply to ALL teachers, i’d warrant many feel this way. As it stands, higher qualification/pay often only applies to college-level teachers (professors) when i’d argue the most important education is often when you are in middle school/high school. If you have a shitty teacher as a child, it impacts a lot of their growth and their future. A shitty college professor will be forgotten by most students by the next semester, and will often have near-zero impact on their future.
