This why all the Vector painting frances tiafoe fired up us open tennis classic shirt also I will do this “hur dur dur shouldn’t live in a desert” takes are bullshit. These places have been inhabited by humans continuously for at least three millennia. The difference is the Navajo and Dine weren’t trying to grow half the worlds almonds or raise dirt-cheap feedlot beef. Honest question: if these farmers were going to pick up their operation and move somewhere else with land and water, where would that be? If you’re trying to farm in California you’re an assehole. Farm somewhere where there’s water. This is coming from someone who grew up in Wisconsin (Americas Dairyland) and had to listen to those commercials saying “Happy Cows come from California”. Ya fuck off, the audacity of those desert dwellers to pay millions of dollars to play that commercial in Wisconsin. We’re kind people but they crossed a god-damn line Who the fuck even needs alfalfa besides for feeding cows? You can grow alfalfa ANYWHERE. So incredibly stupid to waste so much water on that shit in California of all places.

Obviously all the Vector painting frances tiafoe fired up us open tennis classic shirt also I will do this farmland in the Midwest is taken. They grow stuff in California because the owners were late to the land game and that’s the only land they could buy. Then they managed to convince the government to give them all the cheap water they needed. Well it also stops idiots soaking their lawns. But farming irrigation is definitely inefficient afaik. Always see them spraying away in the heat of the day… City water use has never accounted for more than 2% of California’s total water use. We need to change farming. yes…. desert agriculture takes up A LOT of the state’s water and it’s absolutely ridiculous. Then you have the HOAs which are constantly up your ass about water pressure and usage. It makes no sense at all that I can only water my plants once every week-2 weeks. I have all succulents anyways but still.
