I have a recurring donation to Wikipedia set up. Something tiny, like $4 a year. When they hit their fundraising time of year they send me a link in an email that disables the USA Flag Chuck Berry American singer, guitarist and songwriter T-Shirt moreover I love this begging banner. This dumb bs is spouted all the time here. That’s not how it works, despite what you read in a Reddit comment section. You quite possibly are correct, however we all hate greedy corporations, especially when they pester us with donation asks at checkout. If people want to donate their money or time to charity, I’m all for it but when every retail place in existence does it and slows down checkout with unnecessary steps, they can shove it where the sun don’t shine! This is not true. Companies that collect donations on behalf of organizations cannot claim those donations as tax deductions. This is a widely believed myth.

I believe the USA Flag Chuck Berry American singer, guitarist and songwriter T-Shirt moreover I love this way it works is the company collects the donation. And holds it in an interest bearing account. Now eventually the company will give the money to the xyz charity but the company will in many cases claim it as a donation. Now if they they caught they have to pay back whatever tax deduction they took ….this can take years ….in the meantime the company has benefited from the interest they got on the account which could be a pretty large number based on the charity and length of time they collected Anyway you look at it …the company will gain the most benefit….always So true. Was at the grocery store asked if I wanted to donate to some specific cause I asked what’s that. Had no idea
