It’s like a reverse Schroedenger’s Cat, no matter what the Top the Grand Hotel shirt but in fact I love this circumstances are, you’re always wrong and contempable. Blue collar workers shouldn’t struggle, at least in Canada. Everyone I work with when licensed is generally making 100k at least. What really blows people’s minds right now is finding out that computer science majors are having problems finding work. If you don’t think the wage should be higher then you’re admitting that the job still needs to be done but the person who works it should live in poverty. Those statements are conversation stoppers. A more polite way of saying “you’re wrong no matter what you do. Shut up and suffer quietly because we don’t care.” this myth that blue collar jobs are low wage jobs need to die. most of them make way more than your typical college degree job. you get a college degree job for the comfort not for the money. They want you to be poor. They’ve set a price in their mind they’re willing to pay for certain jobs and won’t change that so the people working those jobs will always be poor and the only way for someone to accept such a low paying job is by already being poor. Which is shitty anyway. My dad did Blue collar work for like 25 years, made really good money. Then he got in an accident and permanently damaged his back. He can’t do that type of work anymore so he’s stuck working at an auto parts store for min wage.

That’s what these “blue collar” solution folks don’t get. 1. It only takes one accident to stop you from being able to do it. And 2. Those skills aren’t always transferable to white collar work or retail. So when shit does happen, you’re screwed even worse. You can bet my dad is all about a higher minimum wage now that he makes it, but he certainly didn’t care when he thought he’d be above them forever. Stop complaining and get back to work.
