That job starts at $24.50/hr but requires mechanical experience (of which I have from being an auto tech, before badly herniating 2 disks in my lower spine and having to start my career from scratch at 33…Or continue wrenching and possibly re-injuring myself ). It’s hard fucking work. Any production job is, even just filling boxes with parts. I’ve seen many many people come-and-go in a matter of days to weeks because it ain’t easy being on your feet moving nonstop for 10-12 hours, 4 days a week. It’s definitely not for everybody. Isolation and hard work what I’m doing now and you’re for sure treated as disposable if you aren’t brown-nosing (I do, but not because I enjoy it, I enjoy getting $).

Why do people think blue collar is automatically low wage? Trades around here pay shit, working conditions and work life balance awful. I’m in the UK. The best option here is to get into healthcare to take care of the aging population who threw their health away working said trades. Yes, now you get it, they want you poor, powerless, and ready to comply. You being in a state of constant crushing debt is preferred but not required Hey! I went to college and dropped out due to a mental health crisis now I have the debt of a college grad and the wage of a high school grad! Makes me despair. my friends working blue collar jobs (millwright, operators, boilermakers, etc) are making way more than my white collar job. Let’s be fair, blue collar jobs make bank now compared to most jobs college educated kids make, it’s just much harder on your job. The reason the book of Job was about a guy getting tortured and his family killed for giggles still loving Hod with all his heart resonates so hard for the American people is because the people (Job) await the reward God gave Job. But our bosses aren’t God, and we aren’t Job, our employers want us to act like it saying it’s our job (fitting to be spelled the same) to toil and suffer. I went to college and got a blue collar job, because I didn’t have enough experience to work a white collar job directly out of college
