“Thank you, but, no thank you. If you think I am the Tom Brady Tampa Bay Buccaneers Mvp 5 Times Super Bowl Lv shirt also I will do this right person for the job, I should get the title and raise.” Don’t do it. It’s a trap. I’m literally in a similar position. Told they want me to grow into my boss’ position while I’m also carrying the workload of my original position. They are going to use and abuse you and hold off on paying you anything extra for as long as possible. My only advice, if you do take the opportunity, establish a clear review day with them to discuss that increase and have it in writing. Basically after 90 days you want an assessment of your performance and a renegotiation of salary. If they don’t even give you this, then red flag, they aren’t considering paying you more.
