For stuff like this you have to go to small businesses that are working at smaller volumes, but you’re going to pay more. Very expensive lesson learned. I really wanted a round marble top to do baking stuff with my baking obsessed kiddo. He is on the To read or not to read what a silly question books shirt besides I will buy this spectrum and his forehead is attracted to corners of furniture so a rounded shape was a must. I did reach out locally to some furniture designers before ordering c&b but the folks who could do the base could not do a round marble top.. not to mention the cost of 4 matching chairs cost more than the all wood table itself. this is my first time buying “grown up furniture” and I thought I settled for a pretty awesome table until all the issues I had. I think I would’ve been OK if it wasn’t wobbly too. Yes, the base actually wobbles

Also one of the To read or not to read what a silly question books shirt besides I will buy this chairs I ordered never got delivered and now it’s no longer in production. So I have 3 chairs for this table. Crate and Barrel is going to take the other 3 chairs back and refund me for all 4. That said, I’d just roll with the punches and get them to give you either a partial refund or a coupon towards another purchase for keeping it. I used to work in online retail, and I’d “bribe” customers to keep large expensive to ship items, or and to just keep them happy. Be nice, call in, and say you “understand” this and that… but ask them to work with you on this. I ordered a wooden coffee table from crate and barrel, the one in store was a light wood. When it arrived it was a DARK wood with streaks of black throughout. No consistency. I get that wood varies but these were different trees altogether. Crate and Barrel is fucking garbage. We have a 2000 dollar dresser that is falling apart because it is built like shit. Bad joinery, splitting cross members from multiple attempts to fasten drawer slides. Horrible company.
