Not much to sing to but it was a nice break. Oldies- the Beatles, the Monkees, Mama’s & Papa’s, etc. Grew up listening to oldies radio so it was easy to sing along Polka- lots of Frankie Yankovic. Baby Doll Polka is super sweet. I am still in a volunteer band that plays Polka/waltzes, etc, at local Oktoberfests (albeit I haven’t gone since he’s been born), so it was familiar music with a good rhythm. Alt- FOB, MCR, P!ATD, Yellowcard, NFG, Green Day The Ramones- beat on the brat, blitzkrieg bop

My Grandfathers Clock. This was on a kids tape from my childhood, so I guess kind of traditional, but talk about morbid! Who ever thought this would make a good children’s song?? Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid and You Got a Friend in Me from Toy Story have been my go to songs to sing to my LO. The song that never ends is a good one in a pinch because it just repeats as long as you need. We make up a lot of songs but recently just counting works. My toddler loves it and the second I sing the “you” she immediately stops crying and just listens lol A lot of the acoustic Minus the Bear songs have made it onto our baby’s playlist. I laugh a lot at the line, “let’s get a bottle & drink alone tonight” it takes on a whole new meaning now! Haha.
