A bunch from Alkaline Trio- One Hundred Stories, If You Had A Bad Time, Time yo Waste, and the Ted Bundy American Serial Killers shirt in other words I will buy this Damnesia version of a lot of others. And We Bid You Goodnight- an American traditional that The Grateful Dead cover, but we change up the lyrics a little. We’ve also found that Everything’s Alright from Jesus Christ Superstar helps soothe him if he’s fighting a nap His go to comfort song though? I’ve Had The Time Of My Life of Dirty Dancing fame. It started as a joke when I’d lift him over my head to entertain/soothe him which reminded me of the lift in the movie, but now it’s his favorite and can usually calm him down Dream A Little Dream of Me – Mama Cass version and Sweet Baby James – James Tayler (son’s name is James). Baby Mine- Allison Krause, St. Judy’s Comet -Paul Simon are also faves of LO.

My husband & I danced to Video Games by Lana Del Rey at our wedding and I’ve sung it to our son almost every night since he was born This is such a great question. I can’t wait for the Ted Bundy American Serial Killers shirt in other words I will buy this epic Spotify playlistLift Me Up by Rihanna has been my baby’s failsafe calm down song for several months now. Also I’ll Find a Way by Circs Survive lol We also sing a lot of Girl Scout camp songs, spider nose, barges, green and yellow balloon, daisy on my toe, Dewey, chocolate ice cream cone, and old lady Leary especially John Jacob Jingle Jimer Schmitt. In Spanish. Changed so it says my child’s name. Over and over and over and over. I slow it down and hum it for bed time lol Our daughter isn’t born yet but I hope to be able to sing Godspeed by the Dixie Chicks. Assuming I can get through it! It gets me choked up whenever I hear it. Hold On Till May by Pierce the Veil (a lot of meaning as it helped me get through my first trimester) and If It Means A Lot To You by A Day To Remember I have made-up songs I sing my almost 2 year old. Tonight he started repeating some of it back to me! (The part where I count “one two three.”) I was like, oh no, soon he is going to be outright singing this dumb made-up song… I may not be terribly popular for this answer, but we found out on accident my 2mo son LOVES the song “This is Sh*t” by Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq. He calms down almost instantly when he hears it, even if he is in a full blown purple crying episode. Sometimes we only get 30 seconds of calm, but that can make all the difference on a bad day. So we sing that a lot at my house….
