I wanted to be one and done, but I can’t have children due to medical reasons. But tbh there’s a lot of things about having kids that would bother me and I might not enjoy. I work in healthcare, and even people with well adjusted families die alone. Most people don’t die holding hands with family members. I’ve seen many family members completely overwhelmed with taking care of their mom or dad. It’s selfish to expect your family to quit work and take care of you 24/7. There needs to be better options for nursing home care and elder care. Unless you are from a rich family, I wouldn’t expect your kids to be able to take care of you all day…

The arms race of discontentment will continue to grow exponentially and will definitely have a serious negative impact on the future generations. I don’t want to be like my father or mother, especially not if I have kids that need emotional stability and closeness. I dont really want to cuddle and am shit and showing emotion besides overwhelming sadness/ aggression. I wouldn’t even decide to get a pet, no mammals that for sure. Struggling with intimacy i.e cuddling showing affection etc. And most of all, even if I like children and enjoy interactions, watching them learn, figuring sit out etc. I’m too scared to fuck up, i wouldn’t be a positive addition to their lives in the long run.

It’s taken effort to become a stable, upwardly mobile human being who likes herself a bit, so a child didn’t fit anywhere in that picture. I’m in my 40s now and no regrets. I spend time doing what I want, I make good money and have a life better than I ever pictured for myself.

From someone who has kids, you don’t have to have any reason not to have them. Parenting is a big sacrifice of your time, life and health and it’s not for everyone. I experience life as a very harsh, sad and emotionally hard place in general, so id not want another human to experience the Thomas sanders merch new roman shirt and by the same token and pain. I don’t want them because kids suck. Besides, my cousins breed like bunnies, so my relatives are aiding in overpopulation pretty heavily while not contributing meaningfully to society.
