Even off-the-shelf cake mix makes a tasty cake when baked at home with real butter and stuff. Better yet, pie or cheesecake. Russia IS NOT and HAS NEVER BEEN a superpower. The Soviet Union was a superpower. This has driven me nuts since before this war. Superpower State != Having Nuclear Weapons (otherwise France would be considered a superpower, not that they aren’t super cool) “Codependent” is not a synonym for “dependent.” It also doesn’t mean two people being overly dependent on one another. Being codependent to someone means that you care more about their well-being than about yours, like a reversed narcissism. Can you explain/expand upon this further? This term has always confused and baffled me. I don’t know what it means entails… thanks example: Married couple, person A is an alcoholic. Person B sacrifices a lot of time and energy to compensate for the alcoholic’s self destructive behavior, in hopes that things will get better. Person B hopes A will get better by showing affection and putting in lots of work. Person B is actually enabling person A and may even come to deny that there is a problem, or may feel responsible for the problem, and feels a need to give and give and give.

This is correct. Codependency is about structuring your life around another person’s pathology, particularly something like a substance use problem or another serious behavioral health issue. Another commenter mentioned subverting one’s own needs to focus on another person’s needs, which is charcateristic of codependency, but is only part of it. I’m a remote technician for a common piece of office equipment.
