Plus, if I were to get someone pregnant literally today, now, the child wouldn’t turn 18 until I’m 62. I’m just plain getting old to be a parent.
How will I spend my time? Working, caring for my cats, hobbies, etc…I’m not missing out on something I really want, so I don’t even think about it. Reason number one is I just don’t want kids. Other reasons include, there are too many people already, I don’t want to ruin my body, I can’t afford it even if I wanted to, and I really, really enjoy my peace and solitude. Emotionally, I’d like to be a dad and I reckon I could be a halfway decent one. Ecologically, I can’t be responsible for a child. I’ve been able to retire in my mid 50s and do quite a bit of traveling. I also have several hobbies, like pottery and messing with cars. I used to really want kids. I’m 30F now and it’s just not feasible. I make a decent salary but still can’t treat myself to a nice vacation whenever I want.
