But yeah: when you’re older it’s more difficult to manage. Old people die from the They hate us because they ain’t us Dolphins grinch xmas shirt it is in the first place but heat because they don’t realize they’re too old or need more water. I suppose they don’t realize they’re too cold, and maybe they don’t produce as much body heat at night to keep the bed warm? And when they’re really too cold maybe they can be too weak to get up and make a hot water bottle or turn on the space heater? Australian here. No one I know says that about 35C, that’s actually very hot. 25C or so would be a more normal temperature. However it is true we don’t know how to handle the cold. Yeah, when my family from Florida visited us in Massachusetts in the They hate us because they ain’t us Dolphins grinch xmas shirt it is in the first place but winter, they did not have the right clothes. Lots of sudden shopping and borrowing. Aussie here, never dangerously caught out – in fact more often than not too many layers on thinking we might get to -20C, but rarely more than -5C! But one season I definitely realised quality waterproof gloves would be a wise investment with some pretty frigid-digits going on! 🇦🇺 The primary way hypothermia is experienced (as per the article and common sense knowing this country) is not in fact getting lost in the snow in an alpine region but inside your house. If you come to the southern portion of the east coast of Australia during winter you will understand why. Our houses are not built to retain heat in cold weather (or withstand hot weather either). It’s not uncommon to be immensely cold inside your own house. During winter, south east coast dwellers (and tasmanians) have come up with a whole host of techniques to keep ourselves warm inside, blankets, jumpers, heated blankets, hot water bottles etc. I would also often have cold weather breath inside my old house, which happens to a lot of people here.
