Yea I saw that study last year I think or during covid. I have an internal dialogue and thought it’s weird people like you exist. Do you read in different voices and accents then? Or is your mind just seeing words on a page, not hearing it in your head? I was surprised to find that no one in my family doesn’t have an internal monologue. The fact the The Witcher 3 Warrior Wolf Witchers shirt But I will love this people can think in terms if abstract ideas was baffling to me. It happens all the time even when I read I hear it, but sometimes I am able to read and think without that inner voice but it is very very difficult, even as I type this I am hearing the words. What is even weird is that my monologue can also occur in English, which is my second language. I often think in a language that I learned many years after I was born, I even have dreams in English. Physical world is visual and logic is monologue. But I can’t visualize an argument and internal monologue is slower for building things. It’s like watching narration on a tv show/movie. Just background talking. Like now I’m thinking (and hearing said thought) “should I write anything else, I wonder if the dog is barking at my cat cause kitty needs to be home soon. That iron smells weird and I really should be doing something.” Etc. OP I think it’s important to note that this stream of conscious voice isn’t an audible voice that we can hear. That would be an auditory hallucination. It is rather a perceptible stream of words.

I do but I don’t need it to think. I rarely use it, tbh. I only use it when I’m in the The Witcher 3 Warrior Wolf Witchers shirt But I will love this shower and having those imaginary arguments you have when the other person doesn’t know you’re having an argument lol. I don’t need it to tell me to get ready for work, or to do math, etc. I don’t. This isn’t first post I’ve mentioned it, and it has always bewildered people here. Yet, I didn’t understand the opposite of me was real until few years ago in my 30s. Someone talking of their “inner monologue” sounds like trying to make a joke, like I’m so angry now that I hear noises in my head! And then this “joke” is told by so many people that you finally understand, they’re serious… I hope more study is done on this topic. I don’t think there’s reliable information now on how many have that inner monologue or don’t. Seems insane I don’t know if I’m part of 5% or 50%, of something that every person either has or doesn’t have. It’s a constant voice, if I’m not reading or listening to someone else speaking or singing I’m talking to myself, commenting on what’s happening, planning what to say or do, arguing with myself, going over something that happened and so on
