What do you think about the community hand selecting some young progressives we know we can trust and funding their campaigns? Run them in elections we think they would be competitive. Perhaps just House/Mayor elections at first since I believe those are often less competitive than senate seats or governor seats. From what I’ve seen a big problem with progressives winning is the lack of corporate funds. But with Bernie for instance we were able to actually get pretty far based on individual donations and these elections would be easier than that. it is typical for unions to support candidates and I’m not saying I disagree with your idea but I think funding candidates should be a part of this grassroots funding. I listen to this philosopher Vlad Vexler who focuses on ukraine stuff. He makes excellent points about institutional powers such as the trump and putin admin/regimes destabilizing democracy. Waiting isnt an option here because every year our rights are whittled away by a new house/senate. Dem or republican it doesnt matter they work for the rich. Not us. Capitalism would have a longer stability if the rich weren’t so inclined to breaking the law, corrupt, and greedy. The downfall of capitalism was the creation of the stock market. Companies are required by share holders to make obscene profits, and the best way to do that is low wages and high prices. Add to this the complete loss of any common morality in our society, and it will end in a total collapse eventually. The strength of this country was the affluent middle class, and that is pretty gone now.

Companies must make a profit, otherwise they are not motivated to create, manufacture, distribute, etc. If companies don’t get a good return on their investment, they would be safer just putting the The Sweet Smile of the Champion Vintage T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this money in a savings account. BUT the stock market incentivizes SHORT TERM profits which do not align with LONG TERM stability. YOY growth in profit requires for revenue to grow faster than operating costs. But growth in revenue across an entire global economy means that all operating costs will also grow. The one huge line on the income statement that a company can control is wage spend. Even if all other operating costs rise, companies can grow profit by keeping wages stagnant. Profit goes up, shareholders are happy, stock price goes up, executives pay themselves bonuses while their workers haven’t had raises or bonuses for decades. This system of money in politics has corrupted our country to the core. It is suppose to be a balance of those for the people (Dems) and those for the people who think a check and balance on our M1, M2, M3, GDP and policy should be considered (Rep) before acting. Fiscal responsibility is what we are told. Balance was suppose to be the point.
