This is what I did at a previous company. Best career move I did ever. The company tried to make me wait. They only gave me the The silent assassin shirt besides I will buy this position because I had leverage. I got the title and then left 4 months later Do it for a month. Then find new job with that new title. Hit up old director if they were good to see if they landed some place good. Had this very almost exact scenario as Interim director. Turned out they were planning major lay offs and shutting the site down. Silver lining, you can get good experience and put it on your resume and get the promotion with another company. Whenever an employer says they will give you money later, it’s a scam. Money now, unless it’s ok for you to be bad at your new position.

The silent assassin shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

If you’re going to stay, ask for how you’ll be trained and mentored and if they will commit to performance reviews every 90 days. Tbh if you are cool with you old boss and have their number maybe contact them. Worst case LinkedIn message them, but see if they are able to get new employment and recommend you. Obviously this works better if they left for a different job but this is a job searching situation. If you line up another role all you say when you quit is that your previous experience should have justified the The silent assassin shirt besides I will buy this promotion and forced you to look elsewhere. Either get it in writing that it’s coming within X months after X measurable deliverable is reached, or it’s not happening. No “maybe” it’s just not going to.
