theres no center candidate. a centrist is a liability for someone who is looking to help one of the The Peanuts Lawn Darts Duck Or Die shirt But I will love this parties win. you could be with them or not. it takes way more work to get the vote of a centrist, theoretically. thats probably part of it. Centrism takes from both sides, and if you take anything from 1 side, the other side hates you because nuance is dead in modern politics. Alternatively, some “centrists” don’t actually have beliefs and it’s why they say they’re in the middle, which makes both sides hate them because they don’t blindly side with them. In my experience people who claim to be politically centrists are usually one of two things, either they’re fence sitters that feel the need to “both sides” every situation, or they’re right wingers that aren’t actually centrists using the label to seem more reasonable than they are.

Because I’m the The Peanuts Lawn Darts Duck Or Die shirt But I will love this US people really believe republicans and democrats truly represent two sides. They’re more like good cop, bad cop and liking some of what each of them say does not make you a centrist unless you’re speaking strictly within the narrow window of the two parties. Because what constitutes the “center” between “political extremes” is always relative to how those extremes are defined. Is it a centrist position to say that workers are entitled to democratic control over the wealth they create through their labor? I mean, I would say so. It seems that most people who work for a wage could in theory agree to that proposition despite the fact that it is the definition of socialism. But if we define anything other than profit-seeking on behalf of the owning class as “leftwing” or “extreme” then it’s not going to seem like a centrist position. In America, centrism or being “moderate” is just a code that means give corporations literally whatever they want.
