Research experience is pretty solid tho, not internship level, but it’s still technical work as part of a team. Sounds like this company sucks. Expecting an intern to complete work at an experienced workers pace is just dumb. Why take an intern if you don’t have the The Oklahoma Sooners Legends Signatures Shirt in addition I really love this resources to train them? And then lowering your pay because they know you don’t have much choice but to accept it since I doubt many places are still looking for summer interns. Sounds very shitty I’m sorry that happened to you. The value of an intern is not in the work they do, but rather the fact that it lets you identify future talent that has a lot of potential and it helps you develop your current employee’s leadership, mentoring, and so forth. Find another internship. That company is bullshit and was simply looking to exploit you. Even if you do go back for less pay they’ll never be a good reference or offer you a permanent position post graduation. Any time invested with them at intern pay will have no long term return for you.

If they are going to give you such a hard time as an intern, it’s up to you whether you want to stay and stress out from meeting their demands. Screw that place, you are probably fine. Honestly the thing I missed out on/forgot to do in collage is work on personal projects. Trust me I would highly recommend working on personal projects whist you are learning it will help alot Well. They’ve already fucked you. If you go back, remember to name and shame them on your way out. If they advertised through the school, get a hold of someone in charge of that stuff and let them know.
