I thought he refused to pay for some chips and a drink or something after his card got declined and he wanted to walk out with the stuff anyway Yeah all this talk about how the murderer is the one most at fault, but I don’t know, there’s just something that would piss off my vengeful ghost more about the dude who locked me in and taunted the gunman while behind bulletproof glass. Video shows Samuel McCray repeatedly cursing and insisting he was going to leave the gas station with the items. That’s not really robbery, or at least it’s too gray to charge him with that when 2nd degree is a slam dunk. They’d have to prove the intent behind the shooting was to aid in the theft, when it was more likely because of the argument escalating. He might not be as bad as the person that pulled the trigger. But something about keeping people locked in a store with a crazy person as they beg to be let out is definitely deserving of heavy scrutiny imo. The person that died would most definitely be alive today if it wasn’t for the store clerk, who not only locked the doors but also antagonized the guy as he was threatening to shoot people. This would be the equivelant of people locked in a room with hornets and instead of opening the door, the guy with the key sprayed the hornets with water from the safety of his bulletproof room.

Because there are people who think the The last dance signature shirt and I love this clerk was a victim of all this and want to nudge the conversation that way. Only here it’s like the dude willfully contributed the most to the tragedy even if he didn’t pull the trigger himself. The murderer is already facing murder and attempted murder charges so don’t worry, he’s being held accountable. Instead of trying to whitewash what the clerk did with whataboutism…how about we don’t try to conflate the two? The murderer is a murderer. No one is against that or disputes it. The clerk is also a POS for getting people killed over a fucking snack cake. There’s always going to be crazy violent people in the world – the criminally insane – who are going to do what they’re going to do. There was no stopping this guy, and he may not have even been cognizant of his actions or mental state. No sane person threatens to commit a mass shooting over being caught for petty theft. But the clerk? He chose to lock himself behind bulletproof glass while also locking three innocent people in the store with a man that claimed he was going to shoot them, all over $3.50 worth of snacks. That’s a straight-up sociopath right there. This guy isn’t mentally ill – he’s fundamentally lacking in any sort of empathy. Agreed, also include some anger for the peoples, companies, politicians, etc that continue to proliferate guns. Continued easy access to them turns situations like this super deadly.
