Our hero tells him in a manner that shows he’s hurting, ‘it won’t matter much because son is often too busy with friends’. They both go to the same bar with their group of friends but don’t run into eachother (not facing eachother at tables/going to bathroom etc). Shes there with a group including ex bf to ‘see’ whether it can work again. Hes rude to wait staff. He goes to bar/bathroom. Bestie senses her mood.
