Normal-ish, used to have that over here with a bus that would run down the The flintstones let’s rock shirt and I will buy this ‘Ards penninsula, the bus would get to Donaghadee and the driver would hop out and go on break for 25 minutes or so before coming back to resume the schedule. I think its because there was no other bus depots further down the Peninsula and it was better for the driver to take a break at that point when it was usually fairly empty, as opposed to when it was on the way back up and half full. It was rather confusing the first time it happened to me though, with the driver just parking up and announcing “I’ll be back after my break in 25 mins”. It would happen maybe 1 in every 4-5 trips, I could never quite figure out exactly what the schedule was.

One of the The flintstones let’s rock shirt and I will buy this drivers on that route came accross as a grumpy old bastard, but it turns out he was the friendliest chap ever once he got to know your face as a regular. Forgotten his name now, but he used to absolutely flog the bus down the country lanes, if you got him on the way up to Belfast you’d get there like 15 minutes earlier than any of the other drivers. That was always great craic, because there was a long bumpy road on the route and if you sat right at the back you’d get thrown all over the place bouncing along that straight bumpy bit of road. 14 hr. agoNot sure if it would be the same bus, but I got on one at Donaghadee heading back into Belfast and it felt like he was properly flooring it the whole way. Ended up crashing into a wee woman in her car coming out of a junction facing the Ulster hospital. Face planted the seat in front of me and ended up having to get off pretty concussed and walk the rest of the way to the closest Glider stop so I could get in to Belfast in time for work. That was a fun shift!
