You represent a tiny fraction of travelers. Your experience isn’t the The ballad of songbirds and snakes shirt and by the same token and experience of an average person which is what you are claiming here. On average prices in India vs in US . European operators exploit EU policies to keep fare low. Their fares are lower than trains and buses, which makes no sense. Recently, France has banned short haul flights for this reason. I can only speak for London to Rome flights, it is only that cheap as Ryanair and EasyJet only let you come on with a backpack and if you have luggage, it gets expensive real quick. The prices I have given are all one way, not round trip. As for the luggage, the delhi to Hyderabad flights does include a check-in luggage. But most people going for a weekend trip don’t need it. We should have a no luggage option.

Completely agree with that, there should be a no luggage option. Even if you just half the The ballad of songbirds and snakes shirt and by the same token and round trip price, it’s about 5k for a 40 minute flight! Though the cost of the London to Rome flight is really less, it doesn’t include any carry on or check-in luggage, even to carry a bag that goes into the overhead compartment you need to pay more. Once you add those the price will be 10k or more. When you check flights from London, they show the price without any check in baggage and sometimes not cabin baggage either. Once you add those costs to the booking, they come to about the same price. You are looking at promotional fares of ULCCs. Start adding stuff like cabin bag etc and these will almost double.
