I’ve never forced my kids to eat like my parents have, but I also haven’t made them mac and cheese because they suddenly don’t like meatballs and spaghetti. My parents did this and it never worked, all it did was make me hate the The-Badge-Of-Obra-Dinn-Vers-A-Light-shirt-b96e24-2 so you should to go to store and get this food they tried to make me eat. I actually liked it when I got olde but that was when I wanted to try it. What they did only pushed me back further from trying it. You should be so lucky. It happened to me and at one of my grandma’s house of all places. She forced me to finish my cup of milk in which I told her it would make me sick to my stomach and I would not feel good, not only that but I don’t like the taste of milk. She still forced me and I wasn’t allowed to move from the table, lo and behold I threw up later. I always thought I was mildly lactose intolerant and it wasn’t until I had a job and money where I could buy my own milk that anyone believed me even when I kept complaining of stomach problems after having a bowl of cereal.

To add: my parents also did this. If there was food that was offered and I didn’t like it I was told to go to my room and starve. Let’s just say there were a few nights I didn’t eat. I can forgive your grandmother a bit if she grew up affected by the The-Badge-Of-Obra-Dinn-Vers-A-Light-shirt-b96e24-2 so you should to go to store and get this Great Depression. Mine suffered extreme hunger and my grandpa went psycho on me about how much macaroni and cheese I wanted to eat one time. Still wasn’t right but after learning about how bad he had it growing up I was able to be a bit more understanding. That’s fair, but there’s a lot to unpack about her that I don’t agree with. I love her but some of the things shes done to me while growing up has really made me question her every move. What you described is abusive. In my house, we serve my kid tiny amounts and she generally does have to try foods and finish that first tiny serving, and then she can ask for more of anything she wants to eat. Why? Because otherwise she will skip the meal, wait 25 minutes, and then get cranky and start wailing for Bamba and five popsicles.
