What was driving me away was my commute, not being busy enough at work, and the Tennessee Lips shirt besides I will buy this focus of the job duties. With the counter, my job duties changed, and I was asked to do more. Based on experience (mine and others) consider the changes you want in a job and make sure you are getting those changes. The company I’m at has rehired three employees in the last eighteen months, and then promoted them. So when they gave me a counter offer, I wasn’t concerned with the retaliation aspect. I also wasn’t looking to leave, I was reached out to by a recruiter and I never turn down an interview. So far, I don’t regret staying in the slightest, but I think it really depends on if you trust the management, and your reasons for looking/leaving. I did take a counter offer and honestly I think it was the best thing possible for my career (even though I ended up leaving for good not long after).

I was at the Tennessee Lips shirt besides I will buy this same company for quite a few years and was getting bored, so I ended up accepting what was a fairly lateral move for a modest salary boost elsewhere.. my company countered with a bigger raise, more time off, and a better title (I negotiated for the extra vacation and tried to frame it that I loved the job, the only reason I was moving was for better work life balance). It was a tough decision but I ended up accepting the counter offer. There were some intangibles too that sweetened the deal– my boss ended up retiring shortly after and I was given her job (my new boss liked me a lot and assured me this would be a permanent new role). I was loving life at this point and I realized that this was exactly what I wanted to do (more of a management role). unfortunately there was some internal turbulence due to a selloff, and I got a new boss who ended up replacing me with someone else because he wanted to shake up the status quo. I immediately started looking for jobs and left very shortly after— BUT I can honestly say that the two title boosts, extra PTO, and management experience made me a far more attractive candidate for the job I eventually took- where I couldn’t be happier at.
