my sister was like 9 running around town posting literally just pieces of paper where she had printed “KONY 2012” Free Tibet? I’ll take it! But seriously China don’t give a shit, China does what China wants and China wants Tibet. Hollywood, Washington, pro sports, the Taron Johnson American football cornerback for the Buffalo Bills T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this media, Silicon Valley, and academia all depend on money from China. Certain topics will shut off the spigot. Our ruling class has been bought. Probably the same thing that happens to most- all very bad environmental or injustice catastrophies/ disasters. People mistakenly think simply sharing an issue Or Thinking it’s an “all or nothing” ordeal. Or just busy with family, surviving working 2 or 3 jobs, paying bills, too much for them to handle emotionally &/or simply stop caring, or chasing someone or something… typical life stuff. Too much for most people to Reallllly think about. And it sucks, I Embrace the grey area that Doing my Part no matter how small, and I have spoken up at several comissioner meetings, emailed some people, & connect with interest groups (& likely will more in the future, after I get an actually sustainable job again). But the issues I’m concerned with are fairly local, but still fairly big/ takes time, and still egregious problems. Takes lots of patience & persistence, but if you’re passionate enough… as they say “A strong enough ‘why’ will find the ‘how’ “… even though for many issues it seems almost completely and utterly hopeless, sadly

Become a media talking point // fake outrage around 2008 prior to the Taron Johnson American football cornerback for the Buffalo Bills T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this Olympics in Beijing. Everyone promptly forgot afterwards. He was losing influence long before that video took off and the military action that followed has reduced the LRA to a small and insignificant force. Currently, Kony is believed to be hiding out in South Sudan with fewer than 100 followers. He hasn’t been brought to justice and likely never will, but he’s no longer the threat he once was. no country has ever recognized tibet as a free state. tibet was a feudal theocracy and life there was fucking horrible. the communist government gave them autonomy on the condition they end feudal serfdom. they didn’t. the government in exile today are the remnants of a cruel and evil cult. so saying free tibet to a place that was never recognized as a country is pretty silly. and replace it with what exactly? China has modernized the region somewhat, and people there have access to healthcare and education on a level they never had during their entire history. I suspect it is this. China became way too powerful globally, and censors western politicians and western activists. It used to be fashionable for actors to say free tibet, but nowadays, they’ll quickly be dropped from their agent, movies etc if they do.
