any awareness campaign people shout about will be left to the Raheem Mostert American football running back for the Miami Dolphins NFL T-Shirt in other words I will buy this wayside when a better one comes along. That’s what “slacktivism” is. Just like nobody really talks about Hong Kong anymore, in a few years nobody will talk about Ukraine anymore either It had no real focus for a solution, nothing really doable and unfortunately people just get bored anyway. It was the cause celebre for a time. Remember occupy Wall Street? What happened to that. Similar fate. Completely unfocused just a lot of anger at the economic wreck of Wall Street shenanigans, but no political clout, no focus on what could possibly really be done, just a lot of street frustration and then that all petered out. What happened to gun control, the high school shooting Florida, the rage, the teenage rage, I thought actually kids were going to get a spine and walk out of school I thought that might be a grass roots swell of real indignation, real frustration real disruption, zilch went away. Boredom frustration who knows and the internet age something else on the screen Like most virtue signaling, it was forgotten when the next issue rich white people could pretend to care about came around

People get bored with causes and move on to new ones. Especially when there’s no hope. China isn’t going to back down under pressure.
