I understand it being Year 2 for him so he’s not gonna be as adept as we’re used to, but he never seems to adjust his approach which is weird. In Year 1 he was stabbed by Holly and got a TV dunked on his head. In Snyder’s Zero Year, he got fucked up multiple times but he would learn from his encounters. In this movie, he sees an armed criminal and charges directly at them all the Take’em To The Train Station Yellowstone Shirt in contrast I will get this time lol. I totally agree. I can’t believe people LOVE this movie. It blows my mind but I guess to each his own. the recording of Falcone and the Selena’s friend sounded like it was written by me in high school. At exactly zero moments in this movie was Batman ever the smartest guy in the room. That’s a slap in the face to the character imo Overall I liked it quite a bit, and glad I saw it in theaters, but wouldn’t say I loved it. It was just a solid entertaining movie. I had heard they were leaning into the detective stuff more, and that was very much the case. I think you could have swapped out Batman and Catwoman with a hard boiled detective and a femme fatale, and it would have pretty much worked the same (at least until Riddler is captured). Along with the detective movie, it seemed like Jeffery Wright was hamming it up a bit. He seemed to over exaggrate his speaking style. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t his usual style. It felt like he was trying to emulate the old school noire style.

I had a real hard time taking Patterson seriously with his emo hair and pale skin. I know he was pale because he never was in the Take’em To The Train Station Yellowstone Shirt in contrast I will get this sun, but he looked so emo, it was almost comical. He did a good job as Batman though, I just had a hard time accepting him as Wayne. Paul Dano is fantastic. Loved his performance. I knew ahead of time that Colin Farrell was in the movie, but completely forgot it was him, and I couldn’t for the life of me figure it out. They did a fantastic job with the makeup and his acting was on point. I really liked the way the film was shot. The gun shots in the dark hall was nice. Even the scene when the guy was getting the trap put on his head, with the out of focus view where we can barely see what’s happening, but not really. Interesting take.
