Because so many managers are idiots and are trying to lowball people. They should only be flabbergasted if you asked for something like $200k Idk, my job before this one I told them what I wanted and they came back with an offer $5k higher. My current one gave me what I asked for. I interviewed to work receiving at a hospital last year, the Stop Scaring The Chickens Grammar Matters shirt so you should to go to store and get this stated range was 17-25, I asked for 20 as it was a slight increase on my pay at my current job, they acted like I’d asked for a handjob. It’s absurd. If you are only offering the minimum of the range, just advertise that, and I wouldn’t have wasted 2 hours interviewing and applying for this nonsense. Yeah fuck that, I would give them shit and then just leave. Also leave a review for future people to not waste their time

You never mentioned the Stop Scaring The Chickens Grammar Matters shirt so you should to go to store and get this job description? That would have been a good idea. Most likely the person interviewing you is not paid that much, and they were not aware of the job description saying 90-110. My favorite is when they advertise as a remote position. Then in the interview they say it is hybrid. Then you find out that it’s hybrid based on position and surprise this position doesn’t qualify. I worked at Domino’s a few years ago. The owner put flyers on the pizza boxes saying driver’s make $15 an hr. They made maybe $2.40 an hr but he included tips The money is being pocketed to the higher ups and they don’t want to increase wages while the cost of living increases. This will eventually lead to people with nothing and that will lead to chaos.
