A senior person can easily be pigeonholed to a certain set of technologies and not be able to keep up with newer ones. For instance, a senior dev writes a critical app early on and gets saddled with maintaining it forever. I’d say it really depends on where you work. Someone with a Senior title at a well known company like Microsoft, Meta, Google, Amazon, etc. will likely be in high demand from recruiters assuming they didn’t have an ultra short stint as Senior before unemployment. You may be judged slightly less harshly for your algorithm skills, BUT you have to demonstrate systems design skills at a level you did not have to as a junior. Plus, you aren’t as fresh on algorithms, so you require more review to do well ime than when you were fresh out of undergrad assuming you haven’t interviewed recently. But your odds of getting offers are higher. If you don’t believe me, you can Google statistics about it. There are way more juniors per junior position than there are seniors per senior position. There is less competition. In my experience, when I was interviewing at FAANG+ companies out of college I pretty much had to do perfectly to get an offer, whereas now I get lots of interest and plenty of offers if I can get things mostly right or “good enough”. So there are additional challenges to interviewing as you gain experience BUT overall yes, it does get a bit easier!
